The ARC Alliance is on the cusp of launching their first journal, ARC Geophysical Research, led by a distinguished international editorial team. This team includes an advisory committee, a distinguished group of highly accomplished editors-in-chief, and a large, diverse team of associate editors, all dedicated to scholar-led publishing. Details of the journal scope and workflow are being finalized and hosting of the journal on Janeway (an open-source platform) is being implemented. The journal will begin accepting manuscripts in May 2024. ARC Geophysical Research will use a Diamond Open Access publishing model in which no fees will be paid by authors of ARC Alliance members. This journal will be available to use as a template for others to create a Diamond Open Access journal, enabling future development of scholar-led publishing.
Looking ahead, the ARC Alliance is in discussion for the next journal to follow ARC Geophysical Research with an expected launch date of fall 2024.
